Earthly Basin of Attraction

A new body of work by Rebecca Jobson explores the geographical and metaphysical layers of County Sligo's passage tomb landscape through painting, print, installations and textiles. In framing this ancient region and its tombs as a ‘basin of attraction’, drawing in and cradling life, her work captures a deep cycle of life and lore rooted in the land for millennia.

Rebecca is a multidisciplinary artist working in oils, inks, print and textiles. Rooted in the natural and scientific world, her practice examines the interconnectedness of the macro and micro systems of our world, exploring landscape, ecology, human experience and the microscopic. Unified by a vivid use of colour, her work focuses on the shared impermanence of life - capturing cycles of loss and renewal and the tension between fragility and resilience.
